Audible has a story to tell. It sells downloadable audio versions of books, as well as radio broadcasts, speeches, and other spoken word performances, via its Audible Web site. Some 50,000 titles are available. Users can buy individual titles or subscribe to AudibleListener to download content. Users can listen to programs on their computer, or via an MP3 player or PDA. Subscribers to a recurring title (newspaper, magazine, radio program) can have it automatically delivered to their PC, or wirelessly to their handheld device. Audible also offers a CD burning feature for listening on CD players, and has international versions of its site for the UK, France, and Germany. Amazon.com bought the company in 2008.
